William Blake is one of England's finest and most iconic poets. He has been called "a man not forestalled by predecessors, nor to be classed with contemporaries, nor to be replaced by known or readily surmisable successors", and his genius is clear in every piece of his poetry and artwork. The Inspired By Blake festival is a celebration of this talent, in conjunction with the Ashmolean Museum's major exhibition, William Blake: Apprentice and Master. A wide variety of different events and workshops throughout the festival makes it clear that Blake is as relevant today as he ever was.
